Climate change is affecting water, energy and food worldwide - and Central Asia is no exception. The region is facing increasing water scarcity, which may exacerbate socio-economic and geopolitical challenges. New approaches are needed to overcome these risks. These can be innovative technology or supportive policies - and above all dialogue and negotiation. In this way, long-lasting compromises and positive sustainable development, especially for the future of young people, can be achieved.
In cooperation with Switzerland, the OSCE organized the “Drops of the Future” youth workshop series on the water-energy-food nexus. The aim was to work with young people, especially women, to understand and address challenges around the use of water and energy and the way food is produced and consumed in a sustainable way.
Following the workshops across Central Asia, we are now organizing an event in Vienna to present the results, interesting approaches and innovative solutions from Central Asia and beyond.
We look forward to welcoming you on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 between 14:00-18:00 and on Thursday, February 27 between 09:00-17:00 at the BOKU River Lab in Vienna, Am Brigittenauer Sporn 3, 1200 Wien.
